Andover is 9-1 against the Bulldogs since February of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Andover Trojans will head out on the road to challenge the Arkansas City Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Andover has seven straight wins, the Bulldogs have three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Last Friday, Andover strolled past the Hornets with points to spare, taking the game 68-52. Given Andover's advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 34th, while the Hornets are ranked 237th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Arkansas City came up short against the Lions on Friday and fell 55-45.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Kamari Jennings, who scored 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Wyatt Dickey, who scored six points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Andover pushed their record up to 11-3 with that win, which was their sixth straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.5 points per game. As for Arkansas City, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season.
Everything went Andover's way against the Bulldogs when the teams last played back in December of 2023 as the Trojans made off with a 50-29 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Andover since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
