Even though the Bennett County Warriors scored an imposing 66 points on Saturday, the Hay Springs Hawks still came out on top. Hay Springs came out on top in a nail-biter against the Warriors and snuck past 68-66. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Hay Springs also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2023.
Hay Springs' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Dylan Young led the charge by scoring 21 points along with two blocks. Young has been hot recently, having posted two or more blocks the last five times he's played. Another player making a difference was Talan Smith, who almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine rebounds.
Hay Springs is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which somehow isn't as good as their 14-4 record this season. As for Bennett County, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-8.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hay Springs will take on the Rams at TBD on Thursday. As for Bennett County, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Buffalos on Monday. Stanley County will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
