The Cazenovia Lakers put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their undefeated season alive. They put the hurt on Canastota with a sharp 28-7 win. The result was nothing new for Cazenovia, who have now won three matchups by 20 points or more so far this season.
Cazenovia found their leader in underclassman Robert Livingston, who threw for 170 yards and three touchdowns. Cazenovia also got help from Christian Schug who showed off his sure hands for 84 receiving yards.
Cazenovia's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB three times. Leading the way was Jack Donlin and his two sacks.
Cazenovia's win was their eighth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which bumped their overall record up to 7-0. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 1-6 Marcellus and 2-6 Canastota (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 43.4% over those games). As for Canastota, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6.
Cazenovia will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Holland Patent at 7:00 p.m. on October 27th. Holland Patent will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps New York Rankings (they are ranked 322nd, while Cazenovia is ranked 78th). Canastota does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
