The Laurens Raiders struggled with assists on Monday (the Fountain Inn Fury had 12 more) and sadly the final score reflected it. The contest between both teams wasn't particularly close, with Laurens falling 40-24. They have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
When it comes to explaining why Laurens lost, one person who can't be blamed is Faith Jackson. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds. Jackson continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Fountain Inn to victory, but perhaps none more so than Zipora Sullivan, who scored 12 points. Sullivan is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Madison Garnett, who scored six points along with 12 rebounds and four steals.
Laurens now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Fountain Inn, their win was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-1.
Laurens will head out on the road to face off against Woodruff at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Fountain Inn won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Greer Middle College at 6:00 p.m. on December 12th. Greer Middle College will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps South Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 225th, while Fountain Inn is ranked 52nd).
