The Greencastle Tiger Cubs won against the North Putnam Cougars last Friday with 59 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. Greencastle secured a 59-54 W over North Putnam. That's two games straight that Greencastle has won by exactly five points.
Greencastle was led to victory by Nathan Sutherlin and Sam Gooch. Sutherlin scored 17 points, while Gooch scored 18 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. That's the first time this season that Sutherlin scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Anthony Adams, who scored five points along with five rebounds.
Greencastle now has a winning record of 7-6. As for North Putnam, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-8.
Greencastle will head out on the road to square off against Edgewood at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Edgewood focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 last Saturday. As for North Putnam, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Monrovia at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Monrovia has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 392 points over their last six matches.
