Curtis Baptist (Augusta, Ga.) extended its winning streak to 10 games with a 37-17 victory over
Frederica Academy (St. Simons Island, Ga.) on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a
Christian Reid touchdown pass to
Shaun Brown in the first quarter, the Crusaders led 23-10 at the half.
Curtis Baptist grew its lead to 20 points entering the fourth quarter. CB's lone score in the quarter came on a
Trey Reid touchdown run.
Frederica Academy came in allowing just 16.5 points per game this season. FA had a hard time against Curtis Baptist's offense, which entered the game scoring 34.4 points per game. The Crusaders had given up an average of 9.8 points prior to the contest.
The victory is a complete turnaround from last season's game between these two teams, which the St. Simons Island school took, 38-6.
The defeat comes as a step back for Frederica Academy, which notched a 45-14 victory over David Emanuel Academy in its previous outing.
