Trinidad is on a seven-game streak of home losses (dating back to last season), Del Norte a six-game streak of away losses (dating back to last season), but someone's luck is about to change. The Trinidad Miners will take on the Del Norte Tigers at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Trinidad comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 12 points in their last seven games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
Trinidad fell victim to Centauri's stalwart defense on Thursday and couldn't make it onto the board. They were beaten by the Falcons 63-0. The last quarter was a mere formality, since the game's final score was reached by the end of the third quarter.
Meanwhile, Del Norte narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Center 14-12.
The critical scores for Del Norte came from Cody Worz and Colby Gandy.
Del Norte's win bumped their season record to 2-5 while Trinidad's defeat dropped theirs to 0-7.
Trinidad suffered a grim 40-14 defeat to Del Norte in their previous matchup back in October of 2022. Thankfully for Trinidad, Micheal Laymon (who gained 180 total yards) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
