Gunderson is on a ten-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while Independence is on a five-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Grizzlies will welcome the 76ers at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
While Gunderson's victory against San Jose wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Grizzlies narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Bulldogs 15-14.

Talia Abuhamid was a standout: she went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and two doubles. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaelyn Vejar, who went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Gunderson kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 5.6 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 matchups they've averaged 9.4.
Meanwhile, Independence made easy work of San Jose last Wednesday and carried off a 17-6 victory. Considering the 76ers have won eight contests by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Julieta Ramirez made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and five unearned) runs off three hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with four runs, two RBI, and one double.
In other batting news, Laila Morales was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season. Mackenzy Sauao was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.
Gunderson's win bumped their record up to 10-4. As for Independence, their victory bumped their record up to 11-3.
Wednesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Gunderson hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .483. However, it's not like Independence struggles in that department as they've averaged .403. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Gunderson couldn't quite finish off Independence when the teams last played back in March and fell 9-7. Will the Grizzlies have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other softball content.
