The Providence Lions's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their eighth straight loss dating back to last season. They took a serious blow against Plumas Charter, falling 61-27. Providence lost against Plumas Charter in their previous head to head back in January of 2019, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 60-30 score last time.
Plumas Charter found their leader in underclassman Dalton Bentz, who dropped a double-double on 28 points and 11 rebounds. That makes it 11 consecutive games in which Bentz has scored at least 25% of Plumas Charter's points. Owen Joseph was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with three steals.
Providence bumped their record down to 0-3 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home dating back to last season. As for Plumas Charter, their victory bumped their record up to 5-6.
Providence will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Princeton at 5:30 p.m. on January 9, 2024.
