Softball Recap: Charlotte Makes It Three in a Row on the Road

Charlotte had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 21-run drubbing they dealt Sabinal on Thursday. The Charlotte Trojans never let the Sabinal Yellowjackets get on the board and left with a 21-0 win. The Trojans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four games by six runs or more this season.

Charlotte got a massive performance out of Kadence Luna, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, two triples, and three runs. The dominant performance gave Luna a new career-high in hits. Another player making a difference was Eva Garcia, who went 3-for-4 with six RBI, two triples, and three runs.

Luna wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Charlotte kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 19 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in four consecutive matchups.

Charlotte's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.0 runs over those games. As for Sabinal, their loss dropped their record down to 4-4.

Coming up, Charlotte will take on Cotulla at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Charlotte's pitching crew has only allowed 2.3 runs per game this season, so Cotulla's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Sabinal, they will square off against Falls City at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
