It was a good run, but Burley unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Minico Spartans by a score of 6-5. If the Bobcats were looking for revenge after losing 4-0 to the Spartans when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Jacoby Roe was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. Casen Cooper was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

Burley's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 7-3. As for Minico, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-7 record this season.

While Burley had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
