The Wooster Colts pushed their score all the way to 62 on Wednesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 73-62 to Hug. Wooster has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the loss, Wooster still got an impressive performance from Jared Marquicias, who scored 28 points. Another player making a difference was Fernando Cisneros, who scored seven points along with two steals.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Hug to victory, but perhaps none more so than Amari Davis, who dropped a triple-double on 23 points, 11 rebounds, and 11 assists. Davis is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down ten or more in the last seven games he's played. Bol Makur was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 17 points and 15 rebounds.
Wooster's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-10. As for Hug, the victory was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-9.
Wooster will be playing at home against South Tahoe at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in their respective states (South Tahoe is ranked 57th in California, while Wooster is ranked 50th in Nevada). As for Hug, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Sparks at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hug knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past eight contests -- so hopefully Sparks likes a good challenge.
