Volleyball Recap: H&H Comes Up Short

H&H was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Wood River Eagles.

Despite the loss, H&H still got an impressive performance from Jaylah Gross, who had 17 digs and one assist. Gross has been hot recently, having posted 11 or more digs the last three times she's played.

Wood River was led to victory by Berkley Strode and Tenley Gewecke. Strode had 14 digs, while Gewecke had six digs and two aces. That's the most digs Gewecke has posted over her last six contests.

H&H's loss dropped their record down to 4-17. As for Wood River, their win bumped their record up to 5-16.

H&H has already played their next matchup, a 2-1 defeat against Superior on the 2nd. As for Wood River, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 loss against Cross County on the 2nd.
