While Durant's win against Riverview wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Cougars won a matchup that couldn't have been any closer, slipping by the Sharks 22-21. The victory continues a trend for the Cougars in their matchups with the Sharks: they've now won five in a row.

Durant was led to victory by Sam Themar and King Rivera. Themar threw for 179 yards and one touchdown, while Rivera picked up 45 receiving yards and one TD.

Despite the defeat, Riverview had strong showings from Carter Peternell, who threw for 181 yards and one TD while completing 72.2% of his passes, and Alex McPherson, who picked up 70 receiving yards.

The win was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 2-4. As for Riverview, they dropped their record down to 3-3 with the loss, which was their third straight at home.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Durant will venture away from home to challenge Newsome at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Riverview, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Bartow at 7:30 p.m. on October 10.
