Bryan is 2-8 against Millard South since January of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Bryan Bears are taking a road trip to take on the Millard South Patriots at 7:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Bryan is headed into Friday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 21st straight game dating back to last season on Tuesday. They were outmatched by Millard West and fell 103-64. While losing is never fun, the Bears can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 249th, while the Wildcats are ranked 94th).

Despite the defeat, Bryan had strong showings from Keyon Williams, who went 6 for 11 from beyond the arc to rack up 25 points, and Deon Darnell, who went 7 of 12 on his way to 20 points. The dominant performance also gave Williams a new career-high in field goal percentage (53%). Dom Hairston also deserves some recognition as he grabbed his first steals of the season.
Even though they lost, Bryan was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, a well-balanced attack led Millard South over Omaha Northwest in every quarter on their way to victory on Tuesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Millard South blew Omaha Northwest out of the water with an 82-34 final score. The victory continues a trend for the Patriots in their matchups with the Huskies: they've now won four in a row.
Millard South's win came from a few key players Bryan will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Tyler Albert, who went 6 of 9 en route to 16 points. Carter Margheim was another key player, going 6 for 14 to rack up 14 points and seven rebounds.
Millard South's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-7. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.7 points over those games. As for Bryan, their loss dropped their record down to 0-20.
Bryan came up short against Millard South in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, falling 78-74. Can Bryan avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
