Redlands East Valley took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Friday. They blew past the California Military Institute Rough Riders, posting a 63-7 win.
Vitela Isaac was nothing short of spectacular: he threw for 289 yards and five touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes, and also punched in one TD on the ground. Another player making a difference was Myles Kirkland, who picked up 163 receiving yards and three scores.
Redlands East Valley didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Jesus Lorenzo and Michael Berto. Lorenzo got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Looking ahead, Redlands East Valley will hit the road for the first time this season to challenge Perris at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for California Military Institute, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Santa Rosa Academy at 7:00 p.m.
