Clear Creek made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Denver Academy, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Golddiggers were the clear victors by a 19-3 margin over the Mustangs on Monday. The Golddiggers' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Zephyr Schuessler and Vinny Schoell made a big impact no matter where they played. On the mound, Schuessler tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Schoell struck out six batters over three innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off two hits. Schuessler has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. At the plate, Schuessler fired off two home runs, six RBI, and three runs while going 4-for-4, while Schoell scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2. Those two home runs gave Schuessler a new career-high.
