Softball Recap: Wadsworth Wins Going Away Against Solon

Wadsworth's game on Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They put the hurt on the Solon Comets with a sharp 12-3 win. That's more bragging rights for the Grizzlies, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Lorene Bennett 2025 spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on seven hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Lauren Ball 2025, who went 3-for-5 with five RBI, two runs, and one triple. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season. Emily Gerber 2026 was another key player, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, one double, and one RBI.

Wadsworth was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .436. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Solon only posted a batting average of .286.

Wadsworth's victory bumped their record up to 4-8. As for Solon, they dropped their record down to 4-11 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.

Coming up, Wadsworth is taking a road trip to square off against Cloverleaf at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Solon, they will welcome Perry at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Comets will need to watch out since the Pirates have now posted at least ten runs in their last three contests.
