After flying high against the Lauralton Hall Crusaders on Monday, the Foran Lions came back down to earth. Foran fell just short of Mercy by a score of 58-55. Foran has not had much luck with Mercy recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
When it comes to explaining why Foran lost on Friday, one person who can't be blamed is Faith Doyle. Despite the final result, she scored 25 points. Another player making a difference was Maddie Deldin, who scored ten points along with nine rebounds.
Foran's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Mercy, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Foran will be home for the holidays to greet Cheshire at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Connecticut (Cheshire is ranked 36th, while Foran is ranked 27th). Mercy will be home for the holidays to greet Lauralton Hall at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Lauralton Hall focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up six on Friday.
