Eastside has been on the road for two straight, but on Friday they'll finally head home. They will take on The Highland Regional Tartans at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. Highland Regional took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Eastside, who comes in off a win.
Last Friday, Eastside was able to grind out a solid win over Delran, taking the game 15-3. The victory was just what Eastside needed coming off of a 30-0 defeat in their prior contest.
Meanwhile, after a string of five wins, Highland Regional's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They were outmatched by Rancocas Valley on the road and fell 27-0. Having soared to a lofty 50 points in the game before, Highland Regional couldn't push the score so high this time.
Despite the defeat, Highland Regional got a solid performance out of Nehemiah Butler-mayhew, who gained 145 total yards. Butler-mayhew is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last seven games he's played.
Eastside's victory bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Highland Regional, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-4.
Eastside didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Highland Regional when the teams last played back in September of 2017, but they still walked away with a 26-20 win. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Highland Regional's Johnny Martin iii, who rushed for 135 yards and a touchdown.
