Baseball Recap: Bethany Community Snags Ninth Win in Last Ten Games

While Bethany Community put up plenty of runs on Monday, the same can't be said for Millennium. The Wolves were the clear victors by a 16-0 margin over the Lions. The Wolves might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 matchups by seven runs or more this season.

Cohen Brame was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits in eight consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Brooks McDowell, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. What's more, he posted two doubles, the most he's had since back in March. Another player making a difference was Tripp White, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

Bethany Community always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .714. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Millennium only posted an OBP of .308.

Bethany Community has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.1 runs over those games. As for Millennium, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-11.

Looking ahead, Bethany Community will square off against Cornerstone Charter at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Wolves' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cardinals have averaged an impressive 6.9 runs per game this season.
