Softball Recap: Gallatin Has No Trouble Against Russell

There's no place like home for Gallatin, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They put the hurt on the Russell Rustlers with a sharp 10-2 win on Tuesday. That looming 10-2 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Raptors yet this season.

Olivia Klemann spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on seven hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Gallatin let Kelly Coon and Zoe Bassham run wild. Coon went 2-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and two runs, while Bassham went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most stolen bases Coon has posted since back in May of 2024. Shayla Clark also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Gallatin's victory bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Russell, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-6.

Gallatin has already played their next contest, a 6-5 win against Great Falls on the 15th. As for Russell, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, a 12-1 victory against Capital on the 19th.
