Baseball Recap: Kingsbury Comes Up Short

Kingsbury was the 17-2 winner over Trezevant when they last played one another back in April of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Kingsbury fell just short of Trezevant by a score of 12-11 on Monday. The Falcons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Landon Harris was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing four bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (three). Another player making a difference was Luther Mitchell, who scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Even though they lost, Kingsbury always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .679. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .615 or higher in three consecutive matchups.

Kingsbury's loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Trezevant, the win snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 3-4-1 record.

Coming up, Kingsbury will square off against Whitehaven at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Kingsbury's pitchers better be ready for this one: Whitehaven has averaged an impressive 7 runs per game this season. As for Trezevant, they will take on Douglass at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
