The Belmont Red Raiders will be playing at home against the Inter-Lakes Lakers at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Belmont has three straight victories, the Lakers have 18 straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Last Friday, Belmont didn't have too much breathing room in their game against the Rams, but they still walked away with a 58-52 victory.
Meanwhile, Inter-Lakes was beaten by the Golden Eagles 44-7 on Friday. Inter-Lakes has not had much luck with the Golden Eagles recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Inter-Lakes struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. They are winless (0-5) when they can't control their own glass like that.
Belmont has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-8 record this season. As for Inter-Lakes, they dropped their record down to 0-13 with that defeat, which was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season.
Belmont took their victory against the Lakers in their previous matchup back in December of 2023 by a conclusive 61-39. Does Belmont have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Lakers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
