8A District 12 recap October 22, 2013
The biggest upset of the week belonged to McArthur, who took down 132nd ranked Everglades, 28-13.
The Mustangs scaled the state rankings by moving to 218 from 271 this week, the biggest jump in 8A District 12. McArthur was able to move up by topping the Gators 28-13.
Miramar's Nick Jeanty and Kahlil Lewis led the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-2 quarterback Jeanty has thrown for 1,066 yards this season, while Lewis has 18 catches for 323 yards. Xavier Love from Everglades leads the league in rushing with 561 yards.
An important game coming up in the league this week will be when Cypress Bay takes on the Patriots. At the moment, the Lightning are in third, while Miramar is in first.
Damon Cogdell's team added to the longest winning streak in 8A District 12 this week by beating Flanagan, 22-13. The victory was the eighth in a row for the Patriots.
