Springtown put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past the Diamond Hill-Jarvis Eagles, posting a 59-0 win. Given the Porcupines' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 95th, while the Eagles are ranked 1141st) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Springtown to victory, but perhaps none more so than Teagan Hair, who rushed for 136 yards on only seven carries. Those 136 rushing yards gave Hair a new career-high. Another signal caller making a difference was Kaine Hill, who threw for 72 yards and three TDs on perfect 5-for-5 passing.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Springtown was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 207 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Diamond Hill-Jarvis didn't rushed for any.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Springtown's defense and their seven sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Rome Ewell and Kasen Beaman, who racked up five sacks between them. Ewell is also on a roll when it comes to total tackles, as he's now made six or more in each of the last ten games he's played dating back to last season.
Springtown's victory bumped their record up to 8-0. As for Diamond Hill-Jarvis, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.
