Even though the Lowville Red Raiders scored an imposing 56 points on Monday, the Utica Academy of Science Atoms still came out on top. Utica Academy of Science enjoyed a cozy 70-56 win over Lowville. Utica Academy of Science pushed the score to 65-36 by the end of the third, a deficit Lowville cut but never quite recovered from.
It was another big night for Doneilious King j.r, who scored 27 points along with eight assists and eight rebounds. That's the first time this season that he posted eight or more assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Jazier Brown, who scored 20 points along with two steals.
Utica Academy of Science's victory ended a nine-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-13. As for Lowville, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-5.
Utica Academy of Science will head out on the road to square off against Albany Academy for Boys at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Albany Academy for Boys has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 337 points over their last five games. As for Lowville, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Watertown at 7:30 p.m. on January 30th.
