Cedaredge is a perfect 10-0 against Grand Valley since April of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. Cedaredge will be playing at home against Grand Valley at 2:00 p.m. Cedaredge will be strutting in after a victory while Grand Valley will be coming in after a loss.
Cedaredge was handed a heart-breaking two-run defeat in their last matchup, but they sure didn't let that happen against Salida two weeks ago. Cedaredge was the clear victor by a 13-3 margin over Salida.
Brady Cooper made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed four innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. Cooper was even better at the plate, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.
In other pitching news, Carson Branham looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he gave up only two walks, the fewest he's had since back in April of 2024.
Back at the plate, Carson Rupp was excellent, scoring a run and stealing three bases while going 1-for-3.
Cedaredge always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .526. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Salida only posted an OBP of .382.
Meanwhile, Grand Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss dating back to last season. They fell 10-6 to Rangely.
Andrew Palcer made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole four bases while going 2-for-3. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Tyden Richardson was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
Grand Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Cedaredge, the win got them back to even at 1-1.
Cedaredge took their victory against Grand Valley when the teams last played back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 12-3. Does Cedaredge have another victory up their sleeve, or will Grand Valley turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
