The Southview Christian Conquerors were the 63-56 winner over the Surry HomeSchool Runnin' Patriots when they last played one another back in January of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Southview Christian was dealt a 82-45 defeat at the hands of the Runnin' Patriots on Thursday. Southview Christian has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Leading Surry HomeSchool to victory were Tyler Spence and Hayden Williams. Spence almost dropped a triple-double on 21 points, 14 rebounds, and nine assists, while Williams dropped a double-double on 27 points and 25 rebounds. It was the first time this season that Spence posted eight or more assists. Isaiah Mauser was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.
Southview Christian has not been sharp recently as the team's lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-12 record this season. As for Surry HomeSchool, their victory bumped their record up to 13-17.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Southview Christian's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Chargers at 5:30 p.m. on February 6th. The timing is sure in Rockwell Christian School's favor as the team sits on three straight wins at home while the Conquerors have been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road. As for Surry HomeSchool, they will take on the at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Gospel Light Christian presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Runnin' Patriots in North Carolina (the are ranked 288th, while the Runnin' Patriots are ranked 591st).
