After flying high against the Lafayette Jefferson Bronchos last Thursday, the Lowell Red Devils came back down to earth. Lowell took a 50-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of Andrean on Saturday. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Lowell in their matchups with Andrean: they've now lost four in a row.
Several Red Devils players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Bre Kidd, who scored 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Maddie Mielczarek, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds.
Andrean was led to victory by Lindsay Arcella and Maddie Walton. Arcella scored 18 points along with six steals, while Walton scored 25 points along with nine rebounds. Those 25 points set a new season-high mark for her. Liv Delevic was another key contributor, scoring five points.
Lowell has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-8 record this season. As for Andrean, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-13.
Lowell will be playing at home against Hobart at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hobart is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak. Andrean will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Lake Station Edison at 7:00 p.m. on January 16th.
