Centreville Academy has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against The Central Hinds Academy Cougars at TBD on Friday. Centreville Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past six contests -- so hopefully Central Hinds Academy likes a good challenge.
Last Friday, Centreville Academy took their contest at home with ease, bagging a 40-6 victory over Amite School Center.
Centreville Academy can attribute much of their success to Parker Nettles, who threw for 177 yards and three touchdowns while completing 73.3% of his passes, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground.
Meanwhile, Central Hinds Academy never let their opponents score two weeks ago. They blew past Clinton Christian Academy 27-0 at home. The result was nothing new for Central Hinds Academy, who have now won three matchups by 27 points or more so far this season.
Central Hinds Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Brady Clark, who rushed for 85 yards on only ten carries, and also threw for 79 yards and two touchdowns. Nash Lauderdale and his 87 yards on the ground were also a key factor in Central Hinds Academy's victory.
Centreville Academy's win was their seventh straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 9-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 40.0 points per game. As for Central Hinds Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 6-4.
Centreville Academy was taken down by Central Hinds Academy 37-6 in their previous matchup back in September of 2022. Can Centreville Academy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
