Softball Recap: Woodmont Wins Going Away Against Mauldin

Woodmont won the last time they faced Mauldin and things went their way on Friday too. The Wildcats put the hurt on the Mavericks with a sharp 11-1 victory. The Wildcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by seven runs or more this season.

Woodmont has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.5 runs over those games. As for Mauldin, they dropped their record down to 0-8 with the loss, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Woodmont is set to challenge their familiar foe Hillcrest at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Mauldin will face off against rival J.L. Mann at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
