Advanced Math & Science Academy and Uxbridge are an even 3-3 against one another since June of 2017, but likely not for long. The Eagles will head out on the road to take on the Spartans at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Advanced Math & Science Academy has six straight victories, Uxbridge has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Advanced Math & Science Academy came out on top against Hopedale on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run sixth inning. The Eagles walked away with a 7-4 win over the Blue Raiders. That's two games straight that the Eagles have won by exactly three runs.
Ava McLeod spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on five hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.
On the hitting side, Advanced Math & Science Academy let Avery Constantine and Brooke Laudate run wild. Constantine went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI and one run, while Laudate went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs. That's the most RBI Constantine has posted since back in April of 2025. Kathleen Galvin was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Uxbridge came up short against Nipmuc Regional on Monday, falling 16-2.
Katherine Pratt made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with one double and one RBI. Emma Peloquin also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.
Uxbridge's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Advanced Math & Science Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 6-0.
Uxbridge's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Advanced Math & Science Academy hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .395. It's a different story for Uxbridge, though, as they've only averaged .239. Will they be able to contain Advanced Math & Science Academy's hitters?
Advanced Math & Science Academy couldn't quite finish off Uxbridge when the teams last played back in April of 2025 and fell 6-4. Can the Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
