AAAA Region V recap November 5, 2013
Adding to the longest winning streak in AAAA Region V this week, Dutch Fork beat Lexington 31-20. The victory was the fourth in a row for the Silver Foxes.
North Augusta took down Aiken 55-13 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Dutch Fork's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Derek Olenchuk threw for 176 and 1 touchdown and Deion Frasier had 56 yards receiving. On the ground Matt Colburn chipped in 157 yards. Colburn helped Dutch Fork's passing attack out by catching 4 balls for 47 yards.
Frasier was the best receiver in the league this week as Tom Knotts' team bested the Wildcats. Frasier tallied 5 receptions for 56 yards. Colburn helped Dutch Fork's passing attack out by catching 4 balls for 47 yards.
The most important game in the league this week will be the match up between the Yellowjackets and the Silver Foxes. North Augusta enters the contest ranked 10th in the state, while Dutch Fork ranks eighth.
The Silver Foxes' offense has racked up 5 points this season, earning them the top spot in the league, while Dan Pippen's team has allowed only 115 on the year.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when the Yellowjackets take on Dutch Fork. North Augusta has allowed 115 points this season, while the Silver Foxes have given up 239. The Yellowjackets allowed 13 points last week as they defeated the Fighting Green Hornets.
South Aiken and White Knoll played the most contested game in AAAA Region V this week, with South Aiken eventually emerging with a 17-13 victory.
