Basketball Recap: Tyvon Jacobs Key Part of a Team Effort in Indians Win

Mississinewa won the last time they faced Eastbrook and things went their way on Saturday too. The Mississinewa Indians snuck past the Eastbrook Panthers with a 41-37 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Indians.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Mississinewa to victory, but perhaps none more so than Tyvon Jacobs, who posted ten points and five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Ian Newsom, who earned nine points and seven rebounds.

Several Panthers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Bodie Howell, who went 7 of 13 on his way to 14 points and seven rebounds. That's the most boards Howell has posted since back in January. Another player making a difference was Jayden Younce, who put up ten points.

The victory got Mississinewa back to even at 4-4. As for Eastbrook, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season.

Mississinewa will venture away from home to challenge New Castle at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Eastbrook, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Cowan at 7:30 p.m. on January 11, 2025.
