Despite the defeat, Piedmont saw an underclassman step up: Cooper Wise picked up 134 receiving yards and a touchdown. Wise torched the secondary when he pulled down a catch that went for 79 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Jack Blakeslee, who threw for 255 yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, while Anson put up plenty of points on Friday, the same can't be said for Parkwood. Anson blew past Parkwood 38-0 at home. Considering the Bearcats have won three contests by more than 21 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Anson had a senior duo take command as Kendrick Maye gained 110 total yards and four touchdowns and Jazear Griffin rushed for 120 yards and two touchdowns.
