Rim of the World (Lake Arrowhead, Calif.) extended its winning streak to five games with a 42-28 victory over
Desert Hot Springs (Calif.) on Saturday.After taking the lead on a touchdown pass by
Leighton Hernandez to
Jobani Barrios in the second quarter, the Fighting Scots led 21-14 at the half.
Rim of the World expanded its lead to 21 points entering the fourth quarter. RW scored two times in the third, including once on a
Chase Bodor touchdown run.
Steven Steed played well for the Golden Eagles. The junior quarterback threw three touchdowns.
The Lake Arrowhead school's most effective player was
Jacob Taylor. The senior running back ran for three touchdowns. He has now scored 18 touchdowns on the season.
When the two teams played each other last season, the Fighting Scots came away with a 49-22 victory.
The defeat comes as a step back for Desert Hot Springs, which notched a 34-3 victory over Desert Christian Academy in its previous outing.
In a De Anza game next week Desert Hot Springs (3-3) takes on Desert Mirage, and Rim of the World (5-0) will go up against Notre Dame in a Mountain Valley game.
