The North Eugene Highlanders stacked a ninth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They put the hurt on Eagle Point with a sharp 67-43 victory. The win was familiar territory for North Eugene who now have eight in a row.
North Eugene's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Elias McKinnis, who almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine assists. It was the first time this season that McKinnis posted eight or more assists. The team also got some help courtesy of India Mohiuddin, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds.
North Eugene's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-2. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 32.7 points. As for Eagle Point, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-8 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. North Eugene will take on the Millers at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Springfield will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Oregon Rankings (they are ranked 182nd, while the Highlanders are ranked seventh). As for Eagle Point, they will be playing at home against the Lancers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
