It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Rock Creek Christian Academy White Eagles ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They skirted past ISchool of Lewisville 76-73. Given Rock Creek Christian Academy White's advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 15th in Maryland, while iSchool of Lewisville is ranked 299th in Texas), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Despite the loss, iSchool of Lewisville still got an impressive performance from Jaylen Lawal, who scored 30 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Ashton Taylor-Franklyn, who scored 20 points along with seven rebounds.
Rock Creek Christian Academy White has been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 14 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 19-6 record this season. As for iSchool of Lewisville, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-10.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Rock Creek Christian Academy White won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Olympus at 6:00 p.m. on January 16th. ISchool of Lewisville will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on R.W. Goines Stem Academy at 7:30 p.m. on February 3rd.
