The Seven Rivers Christian Warriors will venture away from home to face off against the Central Florida Christian Academy Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Seven Rivers Christian is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They breezed past Bronson to the tune of 46-6 last Friday. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 24-0.
Seven Rivers Christian's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Rashad Whaley, who rushed for 108 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only six carries. The team also got some help courtesy of Julien White, who rushed for 73 yards and one TD.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Seven Rivers Christian was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 369 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 177 rushing yards in 14 consecutive contests dating back to last season.
Meanwhile, Central Florida Christian Academy put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Boca Raton Christian 71-42. Considering the Eagles have won six matchups by more than 23 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Seven Rivers Christian better keep an eye on Gavin Pritzkau. He was instrumental in Central Florida Christian Academy's win, throwing for 325 yards and five touchdowns. 104 of those passing yards were hauled in by Davy Murphy, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.
Central Florida Christian Academy didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Brady Charron, Victor Pinheiro, Nyshaun Drye, and Chase Saunders picked up one apiece. Saunders has been hot recently, having also posted five or more total tackles the last four times he's played.
Central Florida Christian Academy's win bumped their record up to 8-0. As for Seven Rivers Christian, they picked up their first home victory, bumping their record up to 3-6.
Friday's game might be decided on the ground. Seven Rivers Christian has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 349.8 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Central Florida Christian Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 201.6 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's contest turns into a tough fight on the ground.
