After a string of 12 wins, the Langston Hughes Panthers's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 50-49 to Webb.
Despite the loss, Langston Hughes still got an impressive performance from McKayla Taylor, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 19 rebounds. Taylor hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for 12 straight games. Kyla Greene was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with two steals.
Langston Hughes' loss dropped their record down to 12-3. As for Webb, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Langston Hughes will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Newnan at 6:00 p.m. on January 19th. As for Webb, they will square off against Knoxville Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
