Tampa Catholic was outmatched by IMG Academy on the road and fell 91-53. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Tampa Catholic in their matchups with IMG Academy: they've now lost five in a row.
When it comes to explaining why Tampa Catholic lost, one person who can't be blamed is Isaiah Campbell-Finch. Despite the final result, he scored 26 points. Campbell-Finch scored a full 49.1% of Tampa Catholic's points, the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Christian Cole, who scored 11 points.
Tampa Catholic bumped their record down to 6-10 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for IMG Academy, the win got them back to even at 7-7.
Tampa Catholic will be playing in front of their home fans against Leesburg at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. IMG Academy won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Life Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on January 11th. Life Christian Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 676th, while IMG Academy is ranked 51st).
