The Kokomo Wildkats won the last time they faced the Triton Central Tigers, and things went their way on Thursday too. Kokomo secured a 47-43 W over Triton Central.
Ma'Kaela Drake was the offensive standout of the contest as she scored 16 points along with three steals. Another player making a difference was Aijia Elliott, who scored seven points.
Despite the defeat, Triton Central saw an underclassman step up: Maryrose Felling scored 18 points along with nine rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Hailey Harris, who scored six points along with nine rebounds.
Kokomo has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-8 record this season. As for Triton Central, their loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-5.
Kokomo will take on Tipton at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Tipton comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Triton Central, they will head out on the road to square off against Covenant Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Covenant Christian will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings (they are ranked 269th, while Triton Central is ranked 125th).
