Van-Far is 7-2 against Wright City since February of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Monday. The Van-Far Indians will head out on the road to take on the Wright City Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. One thing working in Van-Far's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three games.
Last Thursday, Van-Far strolled past South Shelby with points to spare, taking the game 60-46.
Van-Far's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Pacey Reading led the charge by scoring 22 points. Nikos Connaway was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with 13 rebounds and eight assists.
Meanwhile, Wright City managed to keep up with North Callaway until halftime on Tuesday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Wright City ended up on the wrong side of a tough 63-37 walloping at the hands of North Callaway. Wright City's defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.
Van-Far's victory was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 18-5. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.9 points per game. As for Wright City, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-9.
Everything went Van-Far's way against Wright City in their previous matchup back in February of 2023 as Van-Far made off with a 57-35 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Van-Far since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
