The West Grand Mustangs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their sixth straight loss. They took a serious blow against Hayden, falling 50-10. West Grand was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-6.
Stran Lechman was West Grand's leading scorer, having posted five points.
Sanjay Geffers held things down on the boards with seven rebounds.
Cale Howard was his usual excellent self, scoring 17 points along with six steals for Hayden. That makes it four consecutive games in which Howard has scored at least 25% of Hayden's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Logan Brown, who scored ten points along with four steals.
West Grand's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Hayden, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-6.
West Grand will take on De Beque at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Hayden, they will be playing at home against Little Snake River at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Little Snake River presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Hayden in their respective states (Little Snake River is ranked 43rd in Wyoming, while Hayden is ranked 235th in Colorado).
