The Waterbury Career Academy Spartans suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Tuesday. They were dealt a 73-27 loss at the hands of Holy Cross. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Waterbury Career Academy has scored all season.
Waterbury Career Academy lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Malinna Figueroa, who scored 11 points. Trinitey Sanchez was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Waterbury Career Academy bumped their record down to 6-6 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Holy Cross, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 11-0.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Waterbury Career Academy will take on Wolcott at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Holy Cross, they will be playing at home against Woodland Regional at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Woodland Regional will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Connecticut Rankings (they are ranked 50th, while Holy Cross is ranked eighth).
