At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jason Gregory, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Lucas Sigafoose, who scored a run while going 3-for-3.
St. Mary's Ryken always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Paul VI is ranked highly in their home state and on Tuesday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of Bishop McNamara. Paul VI walked away with an 8-4 victory over Bishop McNamara.
Matthew Roussey looked comfortable as he tossed four innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits any time he's pitched this season.
