The Millard South Patriots will head out to take on the Lincoln North Star Navigators at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Millard South has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
Millard South is headed into the matchup after thoroughly thrashing Bryan: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Millard South blew Bryan out of the water with a 104-54 final score. With the Patriots ahead 58-36 at the half, the contest was all but over already.

Millard South's win on Friday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Tyler Albert, who went 8-for-11 on his way to 21 points and five assists. Albert continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Koby Meyers was another key player, dropping a double-double with 15 points and 11 assists.
Albert wasn't the only one working in the assist department: Millard South was working as a unit and finished the game with 35 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Lincoln North Star, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Elkhorn South 62-60. Given the Navigators' advantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 17th, while the Storm are ranked 100th), the result on Thursday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Lincoln North Star found their leader in sophomore Jordan Castor, who went 8-for-13 to rack up 22 points in addition to five assists and five boards. Castor's evening made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least 19 points. Another player making a difference was J'Shawn Afuh, who went 6-for-12 en route to 15 points.
Lincoln North Star is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.4 points over those games. As for Millard South, their record now sits at 16-7.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Millard South has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 34.8 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Lincoln North Star struggles in that department as they've been averaging 22.5 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Millard South and Lincoln North Star were neck-and-neck in their previous meeting back in December of 2022, but Millard South came up empty-handed after a 50-49 loss. Thankfully for Millard South, Antallah Sandlin'El (who dropped a double-double with 27 points and 12 rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
