The Sunset Knights can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Monday. They put the hurt on Coral Park with a sharp 52-27 victory. The victory was just what Sunset needed coming off of a 60-33 defeat in their prior contest.
Bianca Pacheco continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 24 points along with five assists and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Alyssa Torrech, who scored nine points along with two steals.
Coral Park's loss came despite strong showings from Ivana Montoya and Maya Vivas-Acevedo. Montoya scored eight points along with eight rebounds, while Vivas-Acevedo scored 11 points along with two steals. Vivas-Acevedo has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played.
Sunset's win bumped their record up to 6-10. As for Coral Park, they are on a eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-11.
Sunset will be playing at home against Florida Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Florida Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 23 on Monday. Coral Park does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
