Menlo School can attribute much of their success to Jack Freehill, who threw for 97 yards and three touchdowns, and Chuck Wynn, who rushed for 106 yards and two touchdowns on only 14 carries.
Menlo School's defense was in the mix too, especially the secondary: they snagged two passes before it was all said and done. The picks came courtesy of Keli'I Chavinson and Jamie Forese. Meanwhile, everything came up roses for Carlmont at home against Castro Valley on Friday as the squad secured a 61-34 win.
Carlmont got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Daniel Mattioli out in front who rushed for 103 yards and three touchdowns on only six carries. Mattioli got the majority of those yards when he took off on a run and that went for an incredible68 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Christian Booth, who rushed for 87 yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries.
